National Press Club presents Centennial Forum at IUPUI

The School of Journalism teamed up with the National Press Club to look at the future of the news media and how to protect its core values in special forum at IUPUI Dec. 2.
As part of its 100th anniversary, the National Press Club is presenting “The Centennial Forum on The First Amendment, Freedom of the Press and the Future of Journalism" around the country.
School of Journalism Newswire editor Anne Kibbler and others at the school facilitated the event, which included a panel discussion. Panelists included Dennis Ryerson, editor and vice president of the Indianapolis Star; Bob Zaltsberg, editor of the Bloomington Herald-Times; Cheryl Jackson, visiting professor of broadcast journalism at IU and a former news reporter at WRTV-6 in Indianapolis; and Emily Metzgar, assistant professor of journalism who specializes in the impact of social media on the political process.
