Philosophy of teaching

I approach every teaching opportunity with the idea that I am helping teach/train my replacements in our profession. I am accutely aware that today's students need to enter the marketplace better prepared and more capable of high levels of professional performance than ever before.

Every teaching opportunity provides many changes not just for increased knowledge, but experiential learning and skill set development as well. It is important for students not only to understand the theory and basics, but also necessary for students to learn how to apply the theory and basics as practical skills and abilities.

Thus, I discover every opportunity to provide students with opportunities to learn while doing. Not just the lecture, study respond method, but actual hands-on application of knowledge and skills both in and out of class.
